Ladies and Mens Hairdresser in Hull
Abbey Rimmington Interview
with John Maffin
Salon director Esther Chadburn worked hard at her career to become the owner of her own salon. She knows what it takes to succeed in a very competitive industry.
Having built a solid reputation for client service and hair-dressing excellence, she is looking to expand the business. Employing the right staff is absolutely key to maintaining standards and developing new client satisfaction. For that reason, Esther was careful to meticulously hand-pick members of her team and then offer the very best formal training opportunities available.
Abbey Rimmington is the latest graduate having completed an advanced City & Guilds course in hairdressing. Importantly, she has been guided by Esther in obtaining invaluable practical experience.
A Dream come true.
In a perfect world, people would be able to find a career in a field which interested, exited and inspired them. However, in many cases this Utopia remains just a fantasy.
It was Abbey's dream to become a hairdresser. Having worked for the last three years under the tutelage of self-made boss Esther Chadburn, she has just qualified from a course in advanced hairdressing - and fulfilled her aim.
Now fully qualified and working alongside her mentor Esther at The Salon, Abbey is living the dream. "I started working for Esther in 2013 -straight from school," enthuses Abbey.
"In addition to gaining practical experience at The Salon, I started a City and Guilds course in hair dressing, she adds."
A combination of dedication and hard work, saw Abbey pass City & Guilds stage one and two levels in just 18 months. The advanced course was the icing on the cake.
Now focusing on building her own list of clients within The Salon, Abbey remains dedicated to working alongside Esther to help grow the now established business still further.
Its been a textbook progression from being a rookie school leaver sweeping the floor and doing simple shampoo tasks, to full qualification to practice in her own right as a fully qualified hair dresser
Abbey can now carry out all professional functions - including cutting, colouring, and perming hair. And aside from formal training in ladies hairdressing, Abbey has also had the full benefit of training from Esther in the art of cutting and styling men's hair.
Whatever, the future might hold for Abbey in the industry, she has no hesitation in committing her current employment to the company and the individual who invested wisely by developing her into a skilled professional through top class industry recognised training and hands-on experience.
Now a valued senior member of the team, Abbey is sure that she chose the right career path - "I'm just enjoying every minute of what I am doing at the Salon. We have lovely clients and I get a real buzz from working here.
The focus is on making the client's happy and that is our aim from the moment they walk into The Salon. I really enjoy being a part of that experience. Its great to have a job that you love. It is hard work, but it is also a real pleasure!"
